Fair Usage Policy

We measure network traffic all the time. We’ve used our data to set a fair-usage allowance which will only affect a very small number of our subscribers. If you're a typical network user, you’re unlikely to be affected by the limit at all.

The Village Networks Fair Usage Policy

  • The monthly download allowance for a standard Village Networks subscription is 60GB.
  • Users who reach 50% of that amount will receive an automatic email, letting them know. They’ll receive another email at 75% of capacity, and another at 100%.
  • If the 60GB allowance is exceeded in a month, download speeds will be automatically reduced to 2Mb/s for the following month.
  • Once a month, subscribers will receive email details of their download totals.
  • If the download allowance is exceeded for a second consecutive month, download speeds will be reduced to 1Mb/s.

Bandwidth use between 2330 hrs and 0630 hrs does not count towards your monthly total.

Subscribers who have regular need for downloads in excess of 60GB a month can upgrade their subscription to 120GB for £50 pm ex VAT. The same fair usage policy will apply, but at the new level.
